Been a while since i posted last. I have been so busy with my shops, the family, homework,etc.

I made a cowl pattern and have it listed on my etsy. I also bought a cow pattern hat to make for the etsy which is up now (photo above). I had to modify it though. The yarn i was using states that its worsted but it was coming out way to small even on a larger hook so i used my earlflap pattern for the body of the hat and it came out great! Savannah loves it :) She hasnt stopped wearing it since i made it for her lol.

I will be making a bunch of different patterns today and will be posting them on my facebook page (KDHandmade) and my etsy as they become available. I have always wanted to create my own patterns, and now that i am more experienced with crochet I now can!

Im also going to crank out some fringe blankets for sale and for me to use during some photography shoots. My studio is slow comin but its a coming! Prob. going to finish the other wall tonite and this weekend. Im so excited to get it up and ready!

I also have posted and plan on posting more photography for sale at my etsy (KPhotographyDesign). I still have some unfinished scrap sets that I need to get done as well.

Update and Giveaway Soon!

I know its been a while since i posted an update on my blog here..My heartsy feature left me with soo many sales and i was super busy! I had a feature on kewtsy..didnt do to well on there. Everyone on etsy that i talked to said they didnt have much luck with kewtsy either, since its new i guess thats to be assumed.

I have added quite a few items since i last updated here.

busy!!

phew..so ok, got everything just about done :) getting the ladybug sets done today and one more bear hat and all my orders (for crochet) will be done and ready to go out for shipment tommorow ! i got like 40 owl hats done in like 4 days..talk about hectic! but i dont want any unhappy customers :)

NEXT time i apply to heartsy , even if i dont get featured :

have LOTS of inventory (at least 5 of each item)

It certainly has been a great rush of business with heartsy..and i do plan on doing the whole heartsy thing again, or at least trying to get featured again i should say, cuz its not a guarantee! I was going to inquire about getting a booth at the fair this year, but im not because im not sure if i would have the time to create up enough inventory to do it, bows and headbands yea but the crochet items, man idk bout that ! Hubby knows how busy i have been, so he obviously dont want me to do it this year, theres always next year!

Im planning on getting lots of dif and new items up in my shop here as soon as i get all my orders done and shipped out. Im going to make a dif style of owl hat without buttons, some nfl stuff (steelers mainly), and some other things. Got my ribbon order the other day (and some headbands and clips) but im not doing any new items until i get the current orders finished and out!

So I just ordered a pile of supplies to make some steelers items and some custom orders for headbands and bows. Look for new items to be up in the next 2 weeks or so! Im off to finish orders!

Heartsy Rocks!

So i got accepted and its been going GREAT!! i have made so many sales that its unreal! Never thought i would ever get accepted (4th time is the charm) , the times before i had given a referral link for my friends/family etc to vote well the 4th time i didnt cuz i just wanted the heartsy community to vote for me (afterall they ARE the ones who would be buying the deal). Sure the deal i offer (and any deal on heartsy) sellers like myself do take quite a bit of a cut (50% off at the very least) but, im hoping it brings in more customers for me. i have a total of 68 sales so far (i had only 3 before heartsy!). I got alot of crocheting to do (my owl hats are selling like hot cakes!) I am extremely happy (and a bit overwhelmed at the same time!) with what heartsy has done for me! I have got more yarn (that i need to fill orders) plus ordering some more ribbon tommorow ..I want to get some new items up in the shop (steelers and nfl inspired stuff mainly and some other things as well).

Im off to start on getting orders filled then to bed (new classes start tommorow at school..college math and concepet development!) hectic, busy week!

I just got an email stating that they LOVED my work and that the members loved my work! wahoo!!! finally, after 4 tries i got into heartsy.im hoping this generates more customers, as well as revenue of course lol. Im working on more inventory now..woot!

Ive been awfully busy making a ton of new bows and headbands. I got 3 orders to get filled today. Plus a hat for a friend and another hat for a friends daughter. so much to do and not enough time to do it! LOL..not to mention final project thats due today for my typography class then thursday i start taking 2 classes at a time (concept development and college math) hectic!! plus the kids are going back to school at the end of the month..so much do to..anyways i just wanted to update everyone. New Promotions!

I am thinking about offering a give away for a promotion for august. Im not sure about it yet. I def want to offer free shipping or _% off for this month etc. I got more sales last month because I did that! So look for some kind of promotion to pop up before the end of the week!

owl hats and photography props

i am currently making owl hats for all my three children ( seven years* six years* and three years)* oh yea my keyboard on my desktop is a little jacked up right now * ill be getting another one tonite and my laptop is getting fixed right now too* long story short i will never buy anything from best buy or a warranty ever again!!!

i also have like two photo sessions coming up in the coming two weeks so i am making a six month size owl hat for that session* i plan on making and getting more photography props and things for my studio* oh yes thats right * my studio!!! me and the hubbs are building it tonite* i bought lumber for him for his garage for his business well we have other work lined up so we can have more income coming in to fund his business * it will all work out *im hoping smoothly! we shall see how smoothly :) but were really excited to start our business ventures* together none the less :)

i plan on getting photos of dif sizes of the owl hats up in the shop very shortly! i want to start buying some more canvases to do more painting* i added one to my kdesignphotography on etsy but i def want to get more in and once i get some umbrellas ill be able to take some better photos of my art etc

New Happenings at the Etsy

The other day I deicided to just merge my 2 shops (knit/crochet and bows/headbands/hair clips) into one shop again..so everyone can access my shop through my first shop on etsy :)-paknitter.

I am also going to revamp the etsy today, retake photos, do some logo design (im going to school for my B.S. in Graphic Design) and some header work :)

Got a busy day ahead of me besides revamping the etsy, but im hoping it will be a productive day!

Busy Busy Vacation Week!

I havent really done any more to my shops since the hubby has been on vacation. First paid vacation he has had in idk how long! maybe ever..we've been busy fishing, spending time with my brother in law and his wife, the kids, making mt pies by the fireside and of course smores :)

Im homebound for a bit today, prob til this evening and im going to spend it catching up on homework, housework, get more headbands and bows made up. Maybe do some more rolled fabric flower clippies, im not sure yet..we shall see..

New items!

Been trying to pump out some new items for both of my shops. Ive been selling more than in the past (yay!) so far in the past week i sold 2 headbands and 1 crochet headband in both my shops total.

Im almost done with the shawl for my crochet shop and I have a pair of fingerless gloves i have to photograph yet and i plan on getting better photos of all my items shortly as my studio equipment and backdrops will be here by the 16th! yay! I cant wait for that!

New Item-Crochet Cowl

This crochet cowl featuring the colors charcoal grey and pea green is my new original design.

I wanted to use up some stash yarn plus ive been wanting to make a crochet cowl (if i had more yarn i woulda done it a lil bigger) and being able to design one really made my day!

All I did was crochet a chain long enough and did a "granny square" pattern throughout and changed colors every other row. I really like how this came out and it was super easy to do! With fall approaching in the next 2-3 months I thought this would be the perfect project!

I have recently published some new items to the knit/crochet etsy shop. A photographer also used the owl hat in a photo session and it looks absolutely adorable. you can view it here

I wish i had a real baby to photograph! lol but i dont so i will use her expertise. Items that are for bigger children (a year and older) I can photograph, and i plan on getting some back drops. Seen some gorgeous ones i plan on purchasing!

New crochet dress in the making!!

so i just got my victoria secret dress..its supposed to be all crochet..but its not.. So i have decided to make a full crochet dress, itl be like the vs one cept it will be all crochet. I have the pattern written down and going to test it now..itl be dif color than the vs one, but its just a test :) so idc lol. if it turns out good then ill go buy some cotton to make it. ill be testing it with fingering wt and prob. c hook.

Dif. shops on the etsy

after careful consideration..ive decided to seperate my shops..going to set up one shop for the knit/crochet items..another shop for the headbands & bows and one shop for my photography & original drawings..so thats what..3 shops..more information to come once i set up the shops..

New Items!

Here are some of the new items available in my shop.

First, heres a crochet headband. It will fit newborn to child size. Its pretty stretchy so it fits a wide range of sizes.

Here is a crochet hat with a flower. Its baby/newborn size. It's too small on my 2 1/2 year old's head.

My first original drawing is available! "Love Balloons" 8 x 10. Its signed and dated and labeled. It isn't framed though. Drawn with graphite on acid-free medium wt paper. More original hand drawn items like this to come! Im currently working on a drawing of a 72 Chevy pickup in graphite. I will be adding some colored works in the near future! Im currently awaiting my colored pencils to get here, just a few more days!

The red, white and blue woven/braided headband. The stripes were an accident. I had no idea how it was going to come out. I usually use 4 or 5 dif. colors when making these headbands but wanted to do something different this time. This will fit baby to children sizes.

Brainstorming new products

So i got a TON of ribbon. I ordered alot when I decided to make some bows. Most of it is smaller 3/8" ribbon. So im doing a search and trying to get innovative with what to make out of the ribbon I do have. When I think of ribbon I think, bows and headbands. I still have quite a bit of alligator clips I could line but I dont want to line all of them.

We shall see what I end up using it on.

Headbands, Bows & Clippie's

I recently learned how to make loopy bows and braided/woven headbands. They are SOO much fun and my daughter just loves them lol. heres a photo of some that are in my shop for sale. I plan on creating more of these today and prob. updating the present photos.

Also ALL items in my shop have been REDUCED 80% or more. Come take a look! If you find something you like but want it customized let me know, as well as if you cant find something your looking for I will see about creating it for you!

In the next month or so I plan on adding some original drawings to my etsy shop as well.

I also made a newborn crochet baby hat last nite, I will be uploading photos of that sometime today.
